The Upgrade Blueprint

What are your points actually worth?

Your bank will happily buy your points back at the floor. A good redemption is worth several times that. Put in what you hold and see the gap you are sitting on.

Cashing out would cost you
£0

Floor and peak values are my own working benchmarks, last reviewed 7 September 2026. The floor is the worst common redemption: Amex statement credit at 0.45p, Avios to Nectar at 0.5p. Hotel points have no cash-out at all. The peak is what a well-chosen redemption returns, and it is not guaranteed. Points valuations are opinion, not fact, and programmes devalue without warning. Always check current rates before you commit.
